The first thing your house shows anyone
Every visit starts the same way. Up the driveway, along the walkway, to the door. When those surfaces are cracked, heaved, or patched, that's the first impression. The lawn can't fix it. And around here, they take a beating. Clay moves under them and summer bakes them. A driveway adds two tons of vehicle on top, several times a day. A surface built for that load works differently from the ground up. Deeper excavation. A thicker, compacted base. Real edges that hold the field together.

What we build
Paver driveways. Interlocking pavers over a deep, compacted base, with the patterns that spread vehicle weight. If a paver ever cracks, we replace that one paver.
Concrete driveways. Poured, reinforced, and finished for traction. The budget-friendly workhorse.
Driveway replacement and extensions. Cracked, heaving driveways torn out and rebuilt on a base that holds. We also widen driveways and add parking pads where the household outgrew the original.
Front-entry walkways.Wide enough to walk side by side, graded to drain, and built to match the house. Need steps at the door? That's our steps and stairways work.
Garden and side-yard paths. Flagstone, stepping stones, decomposed granite, or gravel. The casual routes that keep feet off the beds and the lawn.
Permeable pavers. Surfaces that let rain soak through instead of sheeting off. Worth a look on lots where runoff is already a problem.
What changes
The surface matches its load. A driveway base goes deeper than a walkway base, so neither one cracks under what it carries.
The first thing visitors see is a clean approach, not a patchwork of crack repairs.
Water sheds to the sides instead of pooling mid-slab or running at the garage.
Feet stay on the path, so the lawn and the beds stop paying for foot traffic.

How it works
We look at what the surface carries.
Cars, foot traffic, delivery trucks, and where the water goes when it rains.

We dig to the right depth.
A driveway gets a deeper base than a path. That difference is most of what you're paying for.
We build it.

Driveways that survive North Texas clay
Ask why driveways crack around here and you get one answer: the ground. Our clay swells with every storm and shrinks through every August. A slab poured thin over bare dirt rides that movement until it cracks. A driveway has it the worst. The clay moves underneath and the vehicles press down from above, at the same time. So we put the money underground. Full-depth excavation, an aggregate base compacted in layers, and reinforcement where concrete needs it. Water matters just as much. We grade every surface to shed rain to the sides, away from the garage and the foundation. If water already crosses or pools on your driveway, the surface isn't the real problem. Our drainage services fix the cause. And some cities have rules about driveway widths and street approaches. We'll tell you what applies to your project.

Questions homeowners ask about driveways and walkways
Get your free quoteThe size, the material, and the tear-out decide most of it. Concrete usually costs less up front. Pavers cost more but repair one stone at a time. You get an itemized quote in writing, with the tear-out and base work broken out.
Concrete is the budget pick and handles vehicles fine when it's poured thick on a good base. Pavers run higher, but they move with the clay instead of cracking. A paver repair never leaves a visible patch. Our stone work page compares the materials in detail.
Clay and load, working together. The soil swells and shrinks with the weather. Vehicle weight presses the surface into every soft spot it leaves. A thin slab on a shallow base has no chance. Depth and compaction underneath are what keep a driveway flat.
Yes, and replacement is most of the driveway work we quote. We tear out the old surface and fix the base and drainage that failed it. Then we build the new driveway to handle the load. We can widen it or add a parking pad at the same time.
Sometimes. Some cities regulate driveway width and how it meets the street, especially if the footprint changes. We'll tell you what your project needs before any work starts.
Yes, and they usually should be. Same materials, same crew, one trip. The approach to your house ends up looking like one design instead of two projects.
